How do I transfer my web site to NetHere if I registered
my domain name through NetWork Solutions?
Whether
you place an order by telephone or via our online order
form, be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer
and NOT a new domain.
If you
registered your domain name through NetWork Solutions (InterNIC):
- We
will send a modification template to NetWork Solutions
once your new account is activated. At a minimum,
we will have to change the domain servers from your old
service provider to the NetHere Servers.
- You
should keep your service with your present hosting company
while waiting for NetWork Solutions to complete the transfer.
We will provide you with a temporary IP address so you
can mirror the site on our server. All email and web pages
will still be accessed from the current site.
-
When NetWork Solutions receives the template, they will
generate an acknowledgment request (Ack/Nak) and send
it to the e-mail address of the current administrative
contact of the domain. Once the administrative contact
acknowledges the transfer, NetWork Solutions will update
their records.
- If
the e-mail address of the contact for the domain is no
longer current, you will need to prepare a fax request
on company letterhead, as follows:
- Print
the appropriate form which can be located at http://www.networksolutions.com/makechanges/forms.html.
- Include
company name, address and phone number in the header
and a copy of a photo id in the lower corner.
- Reference
the domain name and NIC tracking number (we will provide
you with the tracking number).
- Fax
this letter to 703-742-9552.
-
As
of June, 2000, NetWork Solutions has provided their
customers with a web based system from which the customer
can make changes to their domain name. If you
registered your domain name since then, simply go to
http://www.networksolutions.com/makechanges/,
enter your domain name, then enter your account number
and password. From there you will be taken to
a screen where you can make changes to your domain.
Again, at a minimum, you will need to change the DNS
servers from your old service provider to our DNS servers.
-
Please
let us know if you need any assistance or if you would
like us to make these changes for you.
