Windows 98 Internet Connection Wizard
Requirements
You will need the following information.
- Your login ID (user name) ex: (joeuser@nethere.net)
- Your password
Double-click the My Computer
icon.
Double-click the Control Panel folder.
Double-click the Internet Options icon.
Choose the Connection tab. Click on the Setup...
button to begin the Internet Connection Wizard.

Choose the radio button for I want to set up my Internet
connection manually, or I want to connect through a local
area network (LAN) . Click Next > to continue

Choose the radio button for I connect through a phone line
and a modem Click Next>
to continue

The following screen may or may not appear depending on whether
your computer detects your modem. Select the modem you
are using. Click Next> to continue

Type in the local NetHere telephone number that you were given
during the account setup.

Deselect the box next to Use country code and area code
. This will gray out the area code and country code
boxes. The purpose of this function is to let your computer
know that you are dialing a local number in your area and
do not need to dial 1 and the area code. Click Next>
to continue

Enter the User name and Password you selected
during the account setup process. The password is case
sensitive so it should be in lower case. Click Next>
to continue

Type NetHere for the Connection name Click Next>
to continue

If you choose to use NetHere's Web Mail click No and
jump to step 30. If you prefer to use another mail client
such as Outlook Express or Netscape Messenger click Yes
Click Next>
to continue

If you selected Yes for setting up Internet mail the following
screen should be next. Click on the radio button to
Create a new Internet mail account Click Next>
to continue

Type in a Display name . This can be any
name you choose and it will show up as the "From" name on
your email. Generally people put their real name, a
nickname etc. This does not have to correspond to your
user name. Click Next> to continue

Type your complete NetHere email address. Remember there
are no spaces in the address

POP3 should already be in the first box. In the Incoming
mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server box type in pop3.nethere.net
. The Outgoing mail (SMTP) server is mail.nethere.net
. Remember that these are lower case Click Next>
to continue

Enter in your Account name (same as your username)
and your Password . Remember password will
be checked. This option is for those who do not wish
to be prompted to enter their password each time they log
on. For security purposes it is probably a good idea
to deselect this option if there are multiple users on your
computer.

You have now completed the Internet Connection Wizard.
Click Finish . If you do not want to connect
to the Internet immediately, deselect the box and Click Finish

If you would like to review your settings for your connection,
right click on your Internet Explorer icon, select
Properties and click onto the Connections tab.
Be sure that Always dial my default connection
is selected.
If everything looks correct click OK and you should be back
at your desktop

Double click on the Internet Explorer icon and the
browser should open and the the Dial-up Connection
box should appear. You can review the settings here
to verify that NetHere is the Connect to choice.
You may select the options to Save Password and Connect
Automatically which will cause the browser to automatically
dial each time it opens and you won't see this box again Click
Connect . The dialer should connect you to our
network and then your browser should load a page and
you can begin surfing the net.
