Email Setup for Netscape 6x
Requirements
You will need the following information.
- Netscape 6x for Windows
- Your login ID (user name)
ex: (joeuser)
- Your password
1. Open Netscape
6 by clicking on Start > Programs > Netscape 6
2.
Click on the Edit menu and select Preferences.
3. In Preferences window, select Navigator from
the Category list.
4. Click on the Home Page Location: box and type
http://www.nethere.net/members
5. Click the OK button.
6. Click on the Tasks menu and select Mail.
7. In the Mail window, click on the Edit
menu and select Mail/News Account Settings.
8. In the
Account Settings window, click on the New Account
button.
9. In the
Account Wizard window, select ISP or email provider
and click the Next button.
10. Type in
your name as you would like it to appear when sending
e-mail into the Your Name box. 11.
Type your NetHere e-mail address into the Email Address
box and click Next.
12. In the
Server Type box select POP Mail Server.
13. In the
Server Name box type pop3.nethere.net and click
Next.
14. Type in
your NetHere User Name into the User Name box
and click Next.
15. Type in
your NetHere e-mail address in the Account Name
box and click Next.
16. Verify
the User Name and Email Address information
and click on Finish.
17. Select
Outgoing (SMTP) Server from the left portion
of the Account Settings window. 18.
Select the Server Name box and type in mail.nethere.net.
19.
Click on the New Account button.
20. Select Newsgroup account in the Account
Wizard window and click Next.
21. Type in
your name as you would like it to appear when using
newsgroups into the Your Name. 22. Type
in your e-mail address that you would like to appear
when using newsgroups into the Email Address
box and click Next
23. Select
the Server Name box and type in news.nethere.net
and click Next.
24. Select
the Account Name box and type in NetHere News
and click Next.
25. Verify the Email Address and click on Finish.
26. From the Account Settings window click on
the OK button.
